ReelArt Statue Available now!
The first all-new Spider collectible since 1941 has started to ship! ReelArt Studios' statue has been sculpted by William Paquet, a detail-oriented industry pioneer who seems to specialize in tough-guys, having done memorable work on Sin City's Marv, Batman, and Nick Fury. (See gallery) Kat Sapene served as paint master. At Argosy's request, the statue depicts the masked version of the character painted by John Newton Howitt and Raphael DeSoto on the cover of The Spider during its ten-year run. True fans of The Spider -- who's knowledge of the character
extends beyond the dashing cover paintings -- take heart!
A pulp fan himself, president Michael Hudson has got you covered:
"I found a way to keep the fans happy by sculpting a second head which will
easily transpose with the Wentworth version. Of course we could not alter the
body to include the humpback as the medium is solid resin but I still feel that
the long hair and the fangs will be a treat for true SPIDER fans." |
