(1991-1993) This is an excellent series of paperbacks that gained The Spider many new fans, myself included. (Though I had read Prince of Evil in the Eighties, it was Secret City of Crime that set off the rabid fandom that carries over to this day -- and this site.) Each book contains TWO Spider stories, and it is great to see the original Pulp art on the covers for a change, even if it didn't always match up with the stories inside. The series is only marred by the tedious trademarking of new nicknames on the front and back covers -- i.e. WEB-STER™, VIOLENT KNIGHT™, and AWESOME ARACHNID™.
