Spider's Web Cast

One thing that really stands out about this first film adaptation of The Spider is how good the casting is. The leads are picture perfect and commanding actors to boot. Once you watch this 15-chapter cliffhanger, it's hard not to picture these actors as you continue to read the Spider novels. Below are links to brief biographies of the under-appreciated principal players of Web.

Warren Hull (Richard Wentworth)
This magnetic B-picture leading man also portrayed Mandrake the Magician and The Green Hornet before he left filmmaking for broadcasting. Read all about it here.

Iris Meredith (Nita Van Sloan)
A Goldwyn Girl who became one of the best-remembered Western heroines of film's golden age. Beautiful and patrician, but with an edge, she was brilliantly cast as The Spider's cool-headed mate.

Kenneth Duncan (Ram Singh)
Okay, so he's Canadian and not Indian -- perennial screen-thug Kenneth (aka Kenne) Duncan is great in this rare heroic role. His threatening presence and sharp, mesmerizing voice work well as the exotic aide Ram Singh.
