Steve Mollett took the Gold award for this design in the 1999 WonderFest USA Amazing Model Contest in the Customized Action Figure category!

For the uninitiated, Captain Action is the original superhero doll of the Sixties. He was like a boy-Barbie in that you had one figure and bought different superhero outfits to dress him up. Today this 12-inch figure is a favorite among customizers.

What's great about Steve's work here is he didn't just make a sensational outfit and mask for Captain Action, he's also included a lot of accessories (which Captain Action was known for) and designed a display that evokes the original packaging.
